<blockquote>An instrumental track posted to the band's MySpace page in late 2006. [[Jim Adkins]] describes this song as "made with the Playstation game, MTV Sound Generator [sic]..software was released back in 2002 [sic]." <ref>{{Citation|url=https://www.punknews.org/article/21206/jimmy-eat-world-delivers-two-holiday-covers-playstation-song|title=Jimmy Eat World delivers two holiday covers, “Playstation” song|last=Paul|first=Aubin|date=2006-12-07|website=PunkNews.org|publisher=PunkNews.org|access-date=2022-01-09|quote=Jimmy Eat World delivers two holiday covers, “Playstation” song

Thought currently working on their new album, Jimmy Eat World has posted some new material online for the holidays. The first is a cover of "Last Christmas" as originally recorded by Wham!, and the second is their take on Low's "If You Were Born Today." Both songs can be streamed online, or purchased via iTunes.

The band also posted a new "B-Side," titled "Satanica." Jim Adkins describes this last track as a track made with the Playstation game, MTV Sound Generator. The software was released back in 2002. You can check out all three tracks on their myspace page.

The band released their last album, Futures in 2004 and followed that with the Stay On My Side EP, released last year.}}</ref> The song may have been composed earlier as the ''MTV Music Generator 2'' software was released in 1999-11-30. <ref>{{Citation|quote=MTV Music Generator/Music 2000 PAL Jester Interactive Codemasters November 30, 1999|url=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PlayStation_games_(M%E2%80%93Z)|title=List of PlayStation games (M–Z)|access-date=2022-01-09}}</ref> Reddit User Uelkse further described the track as "probably the rarest jimmy eat world song ever. They played around with some music maker (I think it was the MTV music maker) and created this song. They mentioned it in an interview many years back and it became an inside joke on the old message board cause no one got to listen to it. After many years they uploaded it somewhere (myspace maybe?) and we got to listen to the strangest Jimmy eat world tune ever.

Edit: Found a source mentioning the song so you guys believe me. [https://www.punknews.org/article/21206/jimmy-eat-world-delivers-two-holiday-covers-playstation-song Link]

I can upload the song later today. I'm at work right now. But your ears are not prepared for this.

Edit: Have fun everyone!

They were bored and played around with the music maker and created this mess of a song. It's nothing special but at the time everyone wanted to listen to it. <ref>{{Citation|quote=Satanica, probably the rarest jimmy eat world song ever.
